Shah Rukh Khan
The wait is over. Eight years after he last directed a film, Aditya Chopra is back helming a Yash Raj Films production. Even as his directorial debut ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ continues its record breaking run in its 13th year, Aditya is ready to direct his third film. After directing his second film, ‘Mohabbatein’, back in 2000, Aditya had taken a conscious break from direction to set up and develop India's first studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the years that followed, YRF, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced such blockbusters as ‘Dhoom’, ‘Dhoom 2’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘Bunty Aur Babli’, ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Fanaa’ and ‘Chak De India’. While Aditya was the creative producer in all these films, he also kept up with his creative juices by writing his father Yash Chopra's directorial venture ‘Veer-Zaara’ in 2004, and the stories of other films.Aditya’s third directorial venture would be titled ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ that would star the formidable Shah Rukh Khan... indeed the jodi of Adi and SRK would once again be a treat for film audiences the world over.Aditya would introduce a new girl opposite King Khan in the film. The hunt for a new girl is on.The film, to be produced by Yash Chopra, would be written and directed by Aditya Chopra.

The ending was decided at the scripting stage. The girl was never meant to get pregnant.
Priyanka Chopra
Why would I shy away from doing something unconventional? I started with Aitraaz, which was as unconventional as they come. I'm so amused by all the speculation about Fashion. It just shows how much interest the film is generating. In spite of the constant attention, we've shot a majority of the film. We're all working really hard on it.''I don't know where these stories come from. Apparently, I asked Madhur to change the climax of the plot so that my character doesn't get pregnant. Now where did that come from? Madhur is a very competent director. Do you think he'd allow any actor to tamper with the script?'Yes, the two of us sat down on the script and threshed it out over six-seven months. Once that was done, we went by the script completely. I'd be the last person to ask for changes once I begin shooting.'As for the film being inspired by the lives of real-life ramp-walkers, Priyanka clears the air.'The film is a work of fiction. It's not meant to be the true story about the modelling world. Basically, it's the story of this one girl's biographical journey, just like Tabu in Madhur's Chandni Bar or Bipasha in Corporate.'The fashion world is my character's backdrop. My character could very well have been a part of any other profession.'Priyanka, who will be seen in Drona and Love Story 2050, admits that she has never been more nervous about any of her films.'It's a very nerve-wracking character and I hope I'm able to live up to people's expectations.'Priyanka has to cram in as much of the shooting as possible for Fashion before she rushes off in March to Miami for Karan Johar's 'Dostana' directed by Tarun Mansukhani.'That would be a welcome sunny seaside change after shooting the intense scenes indoors on a set for Fashion. It's a young peppy frothy film. Totally different from Fashion.'
After playing in Honeymoon Travel’s Private Limited, Minissha Lamba was seen not seen any film and just when we began to wonder where the pretty actress has disappeared she back with another release. This time she will be seen with actor Rahul Bose in the movie Shaurya that’s based on an army officer’s life. Now, this movie seems to be somewhat similar to Minissha’s debut movie Yahaan, where she was romancing another armyman played by Jimmy Sheirgill. The actress was also seen in Corporate. Looks like Minissha love get ‘real’ with her roles, except for the superhuman bit of cours

She is okay with the idea of working with other actors. She wants to make new pairs too. She is open to new things and wants to keep reinventing. And she is still very young and want to do all youthful roles. She is also making a guest appearance in Atul Agnihotri’s film Hello with Salman Khan. Salman is a whole lot of fun to work with. This is a short appearance and we shot for the scenes in Karjat that says Katrina.

Rani Mukerji has now in Yash Raj Films’s next, directed by Kunal Kohli, she has done some heroic stunts for which she had to get her timing right, right down to a split second.
Rani had to balance herself on cable wires like Hrithik Roshan in Krissh 2. Director Kohli says that Rani underwent many rehearsals and trials for the stunt scenes. They shot on many outdoor locations in Mumbai, at Film City and inside the Yash Raj studios. At every place, they took utmost precaution. It could have been very dangerous if Rani had slipped. Thankfully, she pulled it off without retakes. This film will see a new Rani that Kohli adds. Special costumes have been designed for Rani for this film. Kunal says that it’s right. Manish Malhotra and action director Shyam Kaushal took care of that. She had to wear a specific kind of clothes before she could do the stunt scenes. Rani plays an angel who descends to earth to look after business-executive Saif Ali Khan’s children.
In a recent press conference of 9x, Rakhi Sawant was seen toting along her small little diary. No, it wasn’t her ‘black diary’ because, she seems quite happy with her beau, Abhishek, or until the couple decides to do another drama on TV, but a diary where she pens down her monthly expenses. Now, post Nach Baliye, Season 3, Rakhi’s been crying hoarse to all who were ready to lend a ear on her disappointment with dance reality shows and how she has completely sworn off such shows. But, when a journalist at the ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’, the reality show by 9x asked her on her part in this show, she said, “I have to survive in Mumbai.” And to prove that point, she showed every one around her little diary, which she claimed had her year’s expense. But, what was surprising was that her diary had only a few pages scribbled with numbers. The rest were empty. Now, Rakhi’s claim of Rs 3 lakh a month made us sit up and take notice. Not that we object to her spending that kinda money on her daily needs, but someone ought to tell Rakhi that the next time she comes to a press conference toting her little diary and claiming an obscene amount, she ought to at least scribble a few more pages with numbers lest some journo actually sit down to tally her claim that she lives in abject poverty which is the reason she grabbed 9x’s offer!

Bollywood is not new to the concept but it still didn’t show traits suggesting alternate sexuality is here to stay. Audience has seen Isha Kopikar and Amrita Arora in “Girl Friend” and will now see Liza Ray in a very interesting role in Shamim Sharif’s film “I Can’t Think Straight” which is based on his autobiographical book. Liza Ray shares a Lesbian stint with Sheetal Seth in the movie. The movie has been shot widely in London and Oxford. And the shots have been canned in the movie by Aseem Bajaj, who shot “Chameli”. Will it attract controversy? “I won’t say the film is going to be controversial, not in this day and age. Sharif has handled the theme with great delicacy,” says Bajaj. Well it will be interesting to see Liza doing different roles.
Publicity Pictures of the film ‘Karma, Confessions And Holi’ has Randeep Hooda kissing Sushmita Sen and Randeep calls it an act of desperation from the Producer’s side. “I’m disgusted by the producers. Surely they’ve got more to attract the public to the theatres than a kiss between two actors? By flashing one scene, they’re just being cheap and undignified in their promotion. May be they need a less cheesy publicity machinery. No one has informed me. The kissing scenes are part of the film. And I’m not in the least embarrassed about kissing such a gorgeous woman on screen,” Randeep said. Both Randeep Hooda and Sushmita had a brief affair before they split for good. “We’re both professionals. And we were just doing our job. I’m looking forward to the film and to seeing how we look together on screen. It was a great experience working with her because of our association off-screen. It was very funny maintaining a balance between the rapport on and off screen,” he said. Hmm…now that is cheap tactic for sure and sure Sushmita will not keep quite about it!
Yes you have heard it right buddy! SRK and Hrithik are going to sizzle on the dance floor for an item number in Rakesh Roshans’s latest movie KRAZZY 4. Rakesh Roshan’s KRAZZY 4 stars Irrfan Khan, Arshad Warsi, Suresh Menon ,Rajpal Yadav along with Comedy Queen Juhi Chawla and is directed by his close associate Jaideep Sen. Since KRAZZY 4 is an out and out comedy, Rakesh Roshan invades the new territory of comedy with his latest venture.
The main USP of the movie is gonna be the item numbers by sizzling combo SRK and Hrithik Roshan. SRK’s item number has been released few days back and is already making its way to the top of the charts.
Both the superstars are shooting for the same audio track with sligh variation in the lyrics, instead of shooting for two separate songs.SRK’s item number in the movie will be an integral part of the story, and Hrithik stars in the promotional video where he introduces the four comedy men to the audience. The music of the movie is composed by the ever melodious Rajesh Roshan. As usual the K-factor also makes it presence felt in KRAZZY 4 as it does with every other movie which comes out of Rakesh Roshans closet. With the deadly combo of SRK and Hrithik to sizzle on the big screen this April, the audience are surely gonna say “Krazy kiya re!!!”
Performing deadly stunts has become the latest trend in Bollywood these days. We have heard of Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai performing some great stunts in the forthcoming film Dhoom 2. And now we hear the cute and bubbly Ayesha Takia performed a daring stunt all by herself for her upcoming movie. But we hear the actress met with a near fatal accident while shooting in Rajasthan.
“It was a train sequence and Ayesha had to run alongside the train. She was running on the platform. Suddenly, we couldn’t see Ayesha any more. We all thought that Ayesha must have come under the train” says Elahe, the executive producer of the movie. Ayesha had apparently fallen from the platform and was badly hurt.
All we can say to these petite actresses is leave the stunt job to the actors. You have many more better things to do …

Salman Khan is always in the news for his bratty attitude and trips to the jail, but yet again the handsome hunk proved his critics wrong, when he showed his soft and humanitarian side without tom-tomming it.
Salman Khan, was on the sets of music reality show, Chote Ustad last week as a celebrity judge and donated Rs 500,000 to a little girl when he got to know that she was suffering from cancer
The lucky little 4-year-old girl Sahara Shaha was sent by Tata Memorial Cancer hospital along with 3 other children to be a part of the show’s audience.
When Salman picked up the little girl in his arms, a beaming Sahara said, “He is my favourite actor. Meeting him is like a dream come true. I love you, Salman uncle,”
Salman also entertained other kids suffering from cancer, by dancing with them. He went a step ahead and repeated his cliché act by removing his shirt and showing of his muscular body.
Sahara’s mother was equally touched by the star’s generosity, and with tears rolling down her cheeks she was relieved that her daughter can now get proper treatment.
No wonder our muscle man Sallu is loved all over India. All his fans love him for his attitude, generosity, bratty ness and ah! And not to forget his girlfriend!

This week’s Friday release Black and White gives us info about quite a few bombs, - how to tame a suicide bomber and how to sit through a movie, which will eventually bomb at the box office. Its time to relieve Subhash Ghai of the “Showman” tag and award him with a ” No Show ” tag. And its high time for him to step down from the director’s seat, after giving a hat trick of bombs- Yaadein, Kisna and now Black & White (which can instill suicidal tendencies amongst audiences for sitting through them) and just stick to being a producer.
There is nothing white about this movie as everything is black except for the performances by Anil Kapoor, Anurag Sinha and Shefali Shah. Couple of years back we saw Amir Khan-the terrorist disguised as a flirty guide, but being a perfectionist he made it look real. Now come back to B & W guys, we have our Anurag Sinha as Numair Qazi- Fidayeen from an Afghan terror camp, a hardcore terrorist with a heart of stone, comes to Delhi on a mission. A mission to blow up the Red Fort on August 15- Hah! As if it was possible for this guy to do it single handedly, and I guess there is something called security too, Mr. Ghai thinks we are dumb enough to take it??
But then our quiet and grim terrorist must have seen the famous movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum, because he heads straight to Chandni Chowk, saare Delhi mein Chowk hi mila tha?? Our stone cold terrorist is given aasra by a wise poet (Habib Tanvir) in Chandni Chowk, our Afghani hunk does his homework well and passes himself as a victim of Gujarat riots justifying his hatred towards disbelievers. Neighbors to our poet are Rajan Mathur ( Anil Kapoor ), an Urdu professor at Delhi university and his red-hot-chili-pepper social activist wife ( Shefali Shah-she is superb). Now our Professor Rajan is a believer of secularism, and makes no stone unturned to bring peace amongst Hindus and Muslims of Chandni Chowk, so he is a part time peacemaker.
The story moves forward, as our suicide bomber bumps into our peacemaker couple, who welcome him into their own family, loving, caring and giving happiness to him (which he never got back home), as they would have given to their own son. Now this results in conflicts in Numair’s mind, and we are left to wonder which part of the mind he will eventually listen to. Great and sensitive story we can say, but it fails miserably to keep the audience gripped to their seats- Chalo yaar jaldi suicide bombing kario, I cant sit through this crap, is what the audience starts to think.
Naah! Numair is not the real suicide bomber of the movie it’s the screenplay. Mr Ghai ruins the climax of the movie, making it unreal and unconvincing, even a child with a lollipop in his mouth will laugh at it. The only way to understand the ending is to rip off the main plug of your brain or you can become Paris Hilton, only if you really want to.
Anurag Sinha, does a good job as a debutant, with few dialogues to mouth, he manages to express through his eyes and body. Anil Kapoor acts convincing and composed. Shefali Shah is as usual great. Aditi Sharma-huh does she deserve a mention, I wonder how did she won that superstar reality show. Habib Tanvir has a great screen presence. The background score of the movie is good, and the songs are bad. Surely Mr Ghai deserves a pat on his back, for venturing into this dangerous territory, the thought and possibility that terrorists can be reformed makes the viewer bound to think about it.
But the whole package is a real disappointment, with nothing exciting and gripping. The bad movie at the end of the day overshadows the brilliant performances by the cast. We can say Black and White is a suicide bomber at the Box Office.
Rating: ** 1/2 out of 5
Verdict: Can be watched once, but beware- watch at your own risk!

SRK has realized that India’s oil resources are not fully utilized, and thus he has planned to make full use of his wife’s oily secretions. Mukesh Bhatt’s forthcoming movie Jannat, has Emraan Hashmi and debutante Sonal Chauhan in the main lead. The director of the movie is Kunal Deshmukh and Sayeed Quadri has written the lyrics of the songs. Jannat’s album has 8 melodious tracks, which are composed by Pritam.
Pritam has already revealed that the tunes for the songs are lifted, ” My songs in Mukesh Bhatt’s forthcoming film, Jannat, which I had claimed were completely original are no longer so. Some parts of the soundtrack now have borrowed sounds” quipped Pritam.
The album hits of with ‘ Zara Sa’ a romantic song sung by KK, which is very well composed and sung. The song is surely going to be a chartbuster and would be amongst the top songs of the year 2008. Zara Sa Club mix sung by KK is a faster version of Zara Sa and becomes foot tapping disco material, but retains the charm of the original slow track.
‘Judai’ follows which is based on 80’s hit song ‘ Lambi Judai ‘, Kamran Ahmed is the lyricist as well as the male singer of the song, Richa Sharma renders the female voice. ‘Judai’ is remixed into ‘ Judai Kilogram mix’ where additional beats are added to the song, making it more thumping. Richa Sharma weaves her magic again with ‘ Lambi Judai ‘ and gives a fresh touch to the song, which will surely make you hum it.
Pritam again gets inspired by Pakistan Sufi pop in ‘Haan Tu‘, in typical Pakistani style, the songs has long duration of music beats (tabla beats) with less lyrics, another good song in the album. ‘Door Naa Ja’ is another splendid love song, which can be dedicated to a loved one. Sung by Rana Mazumdar and lyrics are rendered by Sayeed Quadri. The title track of the album is ‘Jannat Jahan’ and is sung by Rupam Islam and written by Neelesh Mishra, the song adds the rocky touch to the album, with its rock beats and energy.
The music album of Jannat has songs from every music genre, ranging from love, rock, sufi pop and sad.
Do listen to Zara Sa guys, it is ‘Kya Mujhe pyaar hai’ of this year.
